She says she’s never felt better after losing 8lbs and toning up with regular workouts.

“I love the new me and Steven does, too,” says Alex. “He loves the fact that I’ve ditched my unhealthy habits and has helped motivate me to keep up the hard work.”

So when Mirror reporter asked her, does Alex feel that marriage has brought them even closer?

“Yes, most definitely,” she says smiling. “It hasn’t changed the way we are with each other necessarily but it has made both of us feel more secure.

“I’m proud to be Steven’s wife.”

Also in interview Alex admitted that she wish never had breast enlargment. At the age of 18, she had a breast enlargement to take her from a B-cup to a C-cup. Then after the birth of her daughter Lexie in 2006 she had another operation to take her to a D-cup. But she now regrets her decision.

“I wish I’d never touched them!” she admits.

“At the time, I thought big boobs were nice and that it was the right thing to do but I don’t like their size or shape. Also some of my clothes don’t look right on a bigger bust. I’ve thought about having a reduction but I decided to leave them as they are.”

Inspiring 29-year-old Liverpool skipper and worlds best attacking midfielder Steven Gerrard stunned everyone especiallly Liverpool fans by revealing that He may retire when his current contract expires in 2013.

Its been reported that Steven Gerrard has hinted previously that he is unlikely to play on into his mid-thirties and recently he did mentioned that FIFA Worldcup 2010 could be his last chance to win Worldcup for England.

Steven Gerrard said, “I will be 33 at the end of my contract and it’s doubtful whether I’ll carry on. If I decide to stop, I’ll be proud of the fact I’ve spent my entire career with the same club. And I don’t want to think about wearing any other shirt in the future.”

Gerrard also revealed that he gave serious thought to leaving Anfield for Chelsea four years ago, before changing his mind late in the day.

He Said, “I’ve thought about leaving Liverpool twice during my career, especially in 2005 when Chelsea was a temptation. But I’m glad I never turned those thoughts into reality”.

Reds Captain Steven Gerrard has insisted he is certain he will have a Premier League title by then. “If we don’t win the title this year, it’ll be the next, or the year after and that will be the greatest moment of my career.”

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez told reporters yesterday and promised to liverpool supporters by saying, “I will fight every inch of way to make Liverpool FC champions”.

Benitez admits that it will be a testing summer with only a limited transfer kitty at his disposal. However, Benitez believes his transfer kitty is big enough to land his main targets. And he insists he only needs “one or two” players to ensure the Reds build on the progress they made during a memorable campaign last season.

Rafael Benitez said, “When I decided to sign a new contract I did it because Liverpool Football Club is more than a club. It is the heart of the city. It is our life and for the people here it means so much. I thought I had to sign. We have to fight. We have to do it. The people in this city are always fighting and have been fighting all their lives. We want to do the same. We know the situation is not fantastic but I have a lot of confidence in our squad and we want to fight like we did this year.”

“It has been a terrific season for us. We came very close and we were competing on all fronts. We want to repeat the same next season. I won’t talk about any figures and I can’t say how much we have. Clearly we don’t have too much to spend but I think we have enough money to add the one or two players that we need. I’m very happy with the squad we’ve got. If we can sign one or two players then I’m really positive that we can improve.”, He Added.

Benitez continued, “I’m also positive because we were talking recently about how Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard didn’t play together for a long time this season. Hopefully they will play together more next season. We’ve also got good young players like David Ngog, Nabil El Zhar, Ryan Babel and Emiliano Insua, who was playing really well, coming through.”

“We have a very good squad but we can still improve a little bit. How much can we improve? Enough to the win the title? I’m sure it will be enough to compete. Like this year we will try to compete on all fronts until the end.”

Steven Gerrard has endured being at the centre of a national debate about whether England’s two finest midfielders Gerrard and Frank Lampard are compatible. England has consecutively won last 5 Worldcup qualifiers in style with both midfielders playing for England Team.

Liverpool captain, who was speaking at a school visit organised by the England Team sponsors Nationwide Building Society, said, “Regarding me and Frank, I think you have to give credit to the manager. Capello, along with me and Frank, have proved all the critics wrong. We’ve played together in the last five qualifiers, and we’ve won all five, so people are starting to believe we can play together. In the right system we can play together. Maybe not as two centre midfielders, but we can certainly play well in the right team together.”

He added, “The thing that I have been impressed with since Capello joined is that all the players are on their toes, with no one expecting to start every game. Everyone has to be fit, perform well in training and in games to keep their place. I think that makes everyone perform better. ”

“It’s been difficult for me in an England shirt moving around and playing all different positions, but I’ve also got myself to blame for underperforming. For me the ambition is to play for England like I do for Liverpool. I feel that under Capello I will get the chance to play in that attacking role that I want. I’m trying to get the same understanding with Wayne Rooney as I have with Fernando Torres at Liverpool. My relationship with Wayne over the last three or four games has been really good and I think it has showed.”

Spanish defender Alvaro Arbeloa hailed his team-mate and captain following his hat-trick against Aston Villa on Sunday. He suggested that the Reds captain should claim plenty of individual awards for his performances throughout the 2008/09 campaign.

“Stevie was excellent. He deserves all the credit he gets because he is a key player for us and performs like a true captain,” Arbeloa is quoted as saying in The Sun. I think he is having an amazing season. He deserves to be the best.”

Liverpool will now go top of the table if they win at Fulham on April 4, as they are playing 24 hours before Manchester United face Villa at Old Trafford.

Spanish defender Arbeloa added, “Our objective is to win all our league games between now and the end of the season. It is a difficult task but not impossible now our morale’s improved so much.

“That triumph at Old Trafford really increased our desire to be the champions.”
