29-year-old inspiring Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard told that his team-mates are not prepared to throw the towel in just yet. And they must “dig deep” to prevent their Barclays Premier League title challenge evaporating before the end of October.
Last sunday’s 2-0 loss at Chelsea was the club’s third defeat in premier league and that raised serious doubts about their title campaign. Liverpool are currently in sixth place in the table with 15 points, six points behind Chelsea, who are leading the table. However, Liverpool have a one-game advantage over seventh-placed Aston Villa.
While talking to Liverpool dailypost Steven Gerrard said: “There is so much more to come from us and a hell of a lot of football still to play between now and May. We’re up for the challenges that lie ahead. It will come down to who wants it the most and who is prepared to dig deepest.”
Gerrard continue: “When the manager demands a reaction from us he gets it, and that’s going to come in the games between now and the next Champions League match, too.”
Liverpool traveling to Sunderland on October 17 after that Liverpool have home game against Manchester United on October 25.
