Inspiring Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is very optimistic about Liverpool can still turn their season around. Only One win in last ten matches has left Liverpool at very bottom in title race in Premier League and they are also on the brink of going out of the Champions League at group stage.
Liverpool to play tomorrow with a must win situation against Hungarian champions Bebrecen in Budapest and hope that Fiorentina fail to beat Lyons in Italy. Liverpool will got to Budapest without Fernando Torres however Steven Gerrard is expected to play, possibly with pain-killing injection.
29-year-ol inspiring captain said: “The mood in the camp is really good, although we know our position in the table isn’t good enough. But we have faith in our ability. We know we can put things right. It’s been a frustrating few weeks because as soon as I was fit we had the international break. I’ve been desperate to play and can’t wait to really get going properly again.”
Liverpool manager Benitez admitted it was frustrating for Liverpool to have lost control of their own destiny. “A lot depends on Fiorentina and Lyons, but the main thing for us is to concentrate on our game and see what happens. We have to prepare our game because we don’t have any influence over the other one. If we can do our job and win, we’ll see. We can do it. We have some players coming back from injury, so hopefully with a bit of luck we can progress.”
