Inspiring 29-year-old Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admitted that he still find it difficult to see his ex-teammate Michael Owen playing for liverpool’s arch-rivals Manchester United.
29-year-old Michael Owen started his career with Liverpool senior team in 1996 and spent his careers peak year playing with Liverpool till 2004. Michael Owen played 216 games for Liverpool and scored 118 goals. After departing Liverpool in 2004 he joined Real Madrid for a season and then moved to Newcastle United. Now earlier this season he got contract with Manchester United.
Steven Gerrard played with Owen for many years. Gerrard told FourFourTwo Magazine: “I don’t like Owen playing for Manchester United. It’s weird and doesn’t look right. I played with him in the red of Liverpool since I was 10, so to see him in the red of United is difficult for me.”
Gerrard added: “Obviously it was a chance he needed to take so I wish him well personally but I do not want United to do well at all.”
