Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard and striker Fernando Torres have been named in the FIFA World XI 2009 alongside Chelsea and England captain John Terry.

Terry said: “There is no higher accolade than to be voted for by your fellow professionals so we are all very proud.”

Former United star Cristiano Ronaldo won the Fifa Puskas award for the best goal of the 2008/09 season.
