Its been reported that Manchester City’s owner have decided to put money for Liverpool duo Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres at end of this season.
Last summer Liverpool rejected City’s offer of £80 million for Torres, but they think boosting it up to £100 million this year might sway the reds into selling the Spainard.
City have gone up another level from the Kaka farce. Replacing Mark Hughes with Roberto Mancini gives far greater credibility to the club’s aspirations for becoming a superpower in England and Europe.
A look at the Premier League table shows that City have the edge ove Liverpool, Aston Villa and Tottenham and make it into the top four.
Torres is a big possibility, but it is less likely that Gerrard will follow. 30-year-old Gerrard had the opportunity to move to Chelsea five years ago but turned it down.
