Liverpool FC’s bad days are continues as Liverpool hit by possible double injury blow. Liverpool two biggest superstars Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres got injured while they were away for their International commitments.

For Rafa Benitez this weekend was a nightmare. First He has been alarmed when Gerrard was forced off at half-time of England’s World Cup qualifier in Ukraine due to his groin problem, and then Torres limped off after 55 minutes of Spain’s match in Armenia.

However, Steven Gerrard remains in contention to face Belarus after a scan on his groin injury quelled fears that the midfielder could be absent for up to two weeks at a crucial period for Liverpool, who play Sunderland on Saturday, Lyon in the Champions League three days later and then United.

But Rafael Benítez will remain on edge over Steven Gerrard’s fitness, especially after Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt also suffered injury scares on international duty.

To add to Benítez’s worries, Javier Mascherano, Emiliano Insúa and Lucas Leiva are due to return from internationals in South America only on Friday, less than 24 hours before the game at Sunderland.
