According to Daily Mirror report Fabio Capello has been impressed by Gerrard’s leadership and inspirational displays in England’s games since their World Cup flop and apparently now sees the Liverpool star as his long-term captain.

Fabio Capello is said to have told friends that he can see no real justification for taking captaincy from Gerrard even if Ferdinand returned to National team for next month Euro 2012 qualifier.

Rio Ferdinand has already lost his captaincy spot for Manchester United this season due to his injury. Ferdinand played only 12 Premier League games last season due to back problem and then from ankle injury.

The Red Devils’ legendary shot-stopper Peter Schmeichel secured nearly 50% of the votes to see of his competitors, while Patrice Evra narrowly edged out Chelsea’s Ashley Cole for the left-back spot.

John Terry, Tony Adams and Gary Neville make up the rest of the defence.

Ryan Giggs secured 73% of the vote to breeze through into the left flank, while Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes formed the engine room. David Beckham beat the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and former Arsenal hero Freddie Ljungberg to man the right flank.

Up front, ex-Gunner Thierry Henry and Old Trafford legend Eric Cantona made the front line.

While giving interview to Liverpool’s website reported, Steven Gerrard said he is fully determined to prove himself for the Barclay Premier League 2010-11. Especially after having a new manager and new players in team.

Steven Gerrard said: “When you are captain of Liverpool, every single day you have got something to prove. When you have a new manager and new players coming in, the demands on you to prove yourself intensify. Jamie Carragher, Pepe Reina and Fernando Torres are the same. At Liverpool Football Club there is no time to relax. You are expected to win every game you play and perform to your maximum every time you pull on a Red shirt”.

Gerrard added: “There is lots to be positive about and you have got to give credit to the people high up in the club. They have made a lot of changes to the staff and the players and sometimes that just needs to happen”.

“When things like that happen, you get a freshness around the place and that leads to people having smiles on their faces. I’m just glad I’m going into the season feeling positive and with confidence that we can be successful. Everybody is going into training feeling good and the fans are looking forward to it”.

With introducing four debutant, experimenting formation and Steven Gerrard’s impressive performance enable Fabio Capello bagged a brilliant victory over Hungary yesterday. England beat Hungary in a friendly game at Wembley by 2-1.

England team were in a lot of under-pressure after their poor performance at World cup 2010. More than that Hungary score first controversial goal of the match at 62nd minutes. However, England fought back with an impressive performance by their captain Steven Gerrard and got the much deserved and required victory.

Gerrard led the England fightback in the 69th minute, smashing a 25-yard strike into the top corner after Gibbs’ run down the left had been halted. Then four minutes later Young found the Liverpool star in the box and he turned one man and nudged the ball past another before poking it inside the near post and wheeling away in delight.

That was impressive.

Fabio Capello introduces four debutant in squad Theo Walcott, Adam Johnson, Kieran Gibbs, Bobby Zamora. Theo Walcott and Adam Johnson returned after being left out of the World Cup squad and put in decent performances, while Kieran Gibbs and Bobby Zamora made impressive debuts as half-time substitutes.

Fabio Capello is planning to give Steven Gerrard an attacking role instead of keeping Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard combination at the heart of England’s midfield.

In recent run to world cup warm-ups and run to the world cup Capello has used Gerrard in a more advanced role, allowing him to interchange with Wayne Rooney at front rather than staying back in partnership with Lampard.

Capellod said: “Steven is really dangerous when he gets close to the box. If he has to play in the same position as the other midfielders he is good, but he is too far from the box. He has to get between two lines, the back four and the midfield. That is where you go to shoot”.

“I am lucky because his performance level is always high, but while I like to go forward you always need a holding player in front of the back four”.

“Twice against Mexico they got the ball in front of the goal. This position is really important.”

With Gareth Barry’s participation at the World Cup hanging in the balance and Lampard given the night off, Capello was forced to drag Gerrard back during Monday night’s 3-1 win over Mexico at Wembley.

England vice-captain and worlds best mid-fielder Steven Gerrard says England are desperate to win the World Cup this year in South Africa. Gerrard believes that backing from the travelling fans out in South Africa will significantly boost their glory.

Gerrard has admitted that when the Three Lions receive the full backing of the England fans it can be a major boost to their chances but if they get on their backs then it can have the opposite effect.

Gerrard said: “The fans see that we’re working really hard to improve and we’re desperate to achieve something for them. That is what we do it for. It would be fantastic if we could send them home from South Africa really happy and really proud of the team.”

Gerrard continued: “I’ve played in situations where the fans haven’t been behind the team and it’s difficult. It affects performance and individuals and it’s not helpful.”

“But on the other hand, I’ve played in front of a packed Wembley when the fans are roaring us on to victory and it’s a massive help. If we can get that kind of support in the World Cup, it could be key for us in getting over this quarter-final hurdle and going further.”

Despite rumors of Alex Curran and Steven Gerrard ended relationship, Alex Curran admits that Steven Gerrard is a Softie and really Thoughtful.

While speaking to OK! magazine Alex Curran also admits the Liverpool inspiring captain often surprises her with romantic meals. She said: “He always plans little dinners. And if I’ve been out sometimes with the girls and I’m a little hungover he’ll get up with the children for me. He’s really thoughtful like that”.

Alex also revealed that even they (alex and stevie) have the same nickname for each other.

She said: “He calls me ‘pet’ and I call him ‘pet’. We’ve had that for years, since we met.”

Steven Gerrard and Alex Curran got married in 2007. Earlier this year Alex Curran also admits that Steven Gerrard likes curvier women.

Its been reported that Real Madrid is looking to cash Liverpool disappointed season by signing Steven Gerrard by offering £30million. Further reports added that Gerrard could move alongside Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez whose future remains unclear and who has been linked with Real Madrid in recent days.

According to Daily Star said in their report: “we believe those intentions are genuine and not just idle transfer speculation”.

Daily Star also claimed that Real will also launch a bid to hire Torres knowing that both players would enjoy working together. However due to Torres having a strong love of Atletico Madrid, a move to the Bernabeu may be out of the question.

Steven Gerrard is contracted to Liverpool until the end of 2012/2013. This season he has scored seven goals and provided six assists in 32 appearances in the Premier League and Europe.

Newly appointed England’s captain inspiring Steven Gerrard believes that Fabio Capello has been successful in transforming England into a confident side who can beat any team in the world.

Speaking to News of the World, Gerrard said: “I can certainly say I experienced fear when I went out to perform. The pressure from supporters always transmitted itself on to the pitch. It’s always an honour to wear an England shirt but you only had to see some of the performances, myself included, to see it could also be a burden.”

“There was a lot of fear out there, it was difficult to play and we made hard work out of the fixtures we should have won. Fabio Capello has got rid of all that. The shackles are off and we play without fear now.”

Gerrard added: “He has given me some freedom on the left to go and express myself. He has helped me positionally and tactically too. The main thing I’ve noticed now is that when I go out there I really believe in myself. The fear has gone.”

While camparing Fabio Capello and Rafa Benitez, Gerrard said: “He was very similar to Rafa when he arrived at Liverpool. Capello is really good for players, he helps you individually”.

“He’s not the type of character who will be cracking jokes and having you in fits of laughter. But you don’t want that from the England manager, you want the best football man, the man who is going to improve both you personally and the team.

“When you listen to him talk tactics you know straight away that you’re going to be playing in a good team. Fabio is one of the best managers because he can give you that belief, which you can see in how we play for him. We’re playing some nice football, everyone is enjoying themselves and we’ve got smiles on our faces. The manager has brought that out in us.”

Alex Ferguson said: “He got a twinge in his back this morning in training. He’d been training great with no mishaps at all. But when you get these twinges you can’t take a chance. He won’t be ready for Sunday. He’ll miss a couple of games.”

On other hand Steven Gerrard feels there is no difference between performing as a captain or as part of the starting XI.

Speaking to FIFA.com, Steven Gerrard said: “When I play for England, when I’m not captain, I still approach it exactly the same as if I am captain and I try and go out there and lead by example, so I can help my team-mates and do the right thing. So, although it is nice to be captain and it’s a privilege, you approach the game exactly the same with an armband on or off.”
